In fact almost all of my recordings are live tracks, because there are no overdubs, no layers added afterwards. During the recording process no pre-produced sounds are used and no PC or laptop is on. I usually play one or two loops into my devices just before the realtime playing starts. This is done to adjust the timing and have some components to integrate into the piece. Delays and occasionally a drum machine are synchronized by ear to that initial tempo. Then we go... without a composition, mostly without a plan. I just play and see what's coming to my mind and how it develops. You may ask in what regard the imaginary concert differs from my usual production. Well, I imagined that there is an audience, so I should not overdo certain things and cut them later. For post treatment I limited myself to adjusting levels and some extra reverb.
